Not only Cambodia is currently ‚tourist-free‘ and our project of Agro-Tourism didn’t get a chance to even start. At this point we were approached by Petra with a fantastic idea – Trees for Christine – which is already up and going.
Her NGO Eyes Wide Open (www.ocidokoran.cz) supports a Primary school CBE (Christine) Bush School (https://bushschoolcambodia.com) close to our farm. A project supporting a school is fully in line with our mission (and hearts).
What’s the idea? It is pretty simple – you buy a tree, plant it which will secure funds for children education while helping the nature at the same time.
Every Tree that is planted will help toward creating a new Forest, improve the local Ecosystem and most importantly will support the children with a better school based education
The price is $100 for one sapling planted. Of these funds $10 will be used for the purchase and planting. The remaining $90 is paid to the School. Zero handling costs.
You can currently support the project remotely/offsite but in future when travelling re-opens also personally. You will receive its GPS co-ordinates and a photo of “your very own tree” with your name tag. At a later date you will be most welcome to come and greet your tree personally, or plant one by yourself. Maybe spend a night in a hammock or in an authentic Khmer house and visit the school as well. The first trees are already growing and making us happy!
